2009 Jubilee Tour
The Gudbrandsdal Lag is proud to sponsor a 2009 Jubilee Tour to the Gudbrandsdal Valley June 20-July 6, 2009.
The tour will include many museums, archives and churches. You will marvel at the many scenic views of the Gudbrandsdal Valley from the Jotunheimen Mountains to the Peer Gynt Road in Gausdal as well as view the 1994 Winter Olympic site.
Enjoy a day at Maihaugen, tour the grounds and visit the library and archives. A special reception is planned at the museumn with area Norwegians. Celebrate Mid-Summers Eve at Maihaugen with entertainment and a bonfire.
Visits will be made to the Espedalen Church and unusual graveyard, Sor-Fron and Venabygd Churches. In northern Gudbrandsdal, view the Dovre and Eystein Churches. The tour will also take you to a historic seter and a modern farm. Tour a cheese factory. Shop at the Nisselofet in Heidel for hand crafted gnomes and trolls. Visit the Graffer farm which was the inspiration for one of the Gudbrandsdal bunads (national costume). See the World War II War Museum in Kvam.
The tour will include the Lom Stave Church and the Ringebu Stave Church.
